Hello, everyone! Today’s article features another Lycan subclass for Tales of the Valiant and D&D 5.24, the Circle of the Rose Moon, who use the powers of the Lycan spirit of the werecoyote. This subclass also marks the first designed by TBM Games newcomer Hans Qu!
Druid Subclass – Rose Moon [ToV]
“Trust not what you see beneath the darkness of the new moon, for ‘tis shadows which tread lightest of all in the desert.” ~S’Eesan saying.
Rose Moon druids channel the Lycan spirit of the werecoyote. Mercurial tricksters of the desert, werecoyotes make heavy use of illusions to disguise their numbers. While a foe is distracted in this way, the werecoyote can decide whether to pounce or to keep their distance.

Rose Moon Spells
3rd-Level Rose Moon Feature
You gain ring spells at the druid levels listed in the Rose Moon Spells table. See the Druid Subclass class feature for how these spells work.
Rose Moon Spells:
Druid Level | Spells
3rd | Silent Image, Fog Cloud, Mirror Image, Gust of Wind
5th | Major Image, Conjure Animals
7th | Hallucinatory Terrain, Greater Invisibility
9th | Seeming, Dream
Wild Shape
3rd-Level Rose Moon Feature
You gain the following Wild Shape Option
Wild Shape: Mirage
As an action, you can expend one use of your Wild Shape feature to create a harmless illusory image no larger than a 20-foot cube within 120 feet of you. Physical interactions with the image will reveal it to be an illusion, because things can pass through it. A creature that uses its action to examine the image can determine that it is an illusion with a successful INT (Investigation) check against your spell save DC. If a creature discerns the illusion for what it is, the creature can see through the image.
Mirage Aspect
3rd-Level Rose Moon Feature
When you transform using your Wild Shape feature, you may expend a spell slot of 1st level or greater to take on a Mirage Aspect, making your physical location and shape more difficult to discern. While under the effects of your Mirage Aspect, you have advantage on dexterity saves. Ranged attack rolls are also made at disadvantage against you while you are within a Mirage created by your Wild Shape.
Summon Sandstorm
7th-Level Rose Moon Feature
“The desert winds were ever under the protection of the two brother gods, Garuda and Darude.” ~Excerpt from the Book of Joumyor
You can use an action to produce a desert sandstorm in a 60-foot sphere centered on you, which lasts up to 1 minute or until dismissed as an action. Inside the sandstorm, creatures can only see out to a distance of 30 feet and have disadvantage on Wisdom(Perception) checks based on vision. A creature entering the sandstorm or ending its turn there takes slashing damage equal to 1d8 + your Wisdom Modifier.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
Spectral Chorus
11th-Level Rose Moon Feature
When you activate your Mirage Aspect, you may create a number of illusory copies of yourself equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum 1) in unoccupied spaces within 10 feet of you.
These illusory images do not have hit points, have an Armor Class of 10, and disappear after 1 minute or when they would take damage, but otherwise appear identical to yourself. When a creature hits an illusory image with an attack, they take 1d8 radiant damage and 1d8 psychic damage.
While any illusory images are present, when you are hit with an attack, you may use your reaction to switch places with one of the illusory images, changing the target of the attack to the image.
Pocket Oasis
15th-Level Rose Moon Feature
When you use your Mirage Wild Shape option, you may expend a spell slot in addition to one use of your Wild Shape feature to create a pocket dimension oasis that lasts as many hours as the circle of spell slot expended. To creatures outside this oasis, creatures inside appear to be impossibly far in the distance. Any creature or object crossing the oasis’s threshold immediately appears on the other side. At the end of the spell’s duration, or when you choose to dispel the oasis as an action, any creatures or objects within reappear where the oasis was originally created.
The oasis contains sparse creature comforts, such as a tree for some shade and a pool of clear drinking water.

Physical interactions with the image will reveal it to be an illusion, because things can pass through it. A creature entering the sandstorm or ending its turn there takes Slashing damage equal to 1d8 + your Wisdom Modifier.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
Level 10: Spectral Chorus
When you enter your Mirage Aspect, you can also create a number of illusory copies of yourself equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum 1) in unoccupied spaces within 10 feet of you.
These illusory images do not have Hit Points, have an Armor Class of 10, and disappear after 1 minute or when they would take damage, but otherwise appear identical to yourself. When a creature hits an illusory image with an attack, they take 1d8 Radiant damage and 1d8 Psychic damage.
While any illusory images are active, when you are hit with an attack, you may use your Reaction to switch places with one of the illusory images, making the image the target of the attack.
Level 14: Pocket Oasis
When you use your Mirage Wild Shape option, you may expend a spell slot in addition to one use of your Wild Shape feature to create a pocket dimension oasis that lasts as many hours as the level of spell slot expended. To creatures outside this oasis, its contents appear impossibly distant. Any creature or object crossing the oasis’s threshold immediately appears on the other side. At the end of the spell’s duration, or when you choose to dispel the oasis as a Magic action, any creatures or objects within reappear where the oasis was originally created.
The oasis contains sparse creature comforts, such as a tree for some shade and a pool of clear drinking water.
