Path of Roiling Magma

Hello, everyone! This month’s class archetype is a new Primal Path, the Path of Roiling Magma. This barbarian subclass has a geothermal theme, wielding seismic power and volcanic rages.

Barbarian Primal Path

Path of Roiling Magma

Nothing describes the force of a barbarian’s rage as succinctly as “eruption.” The incredible pressures from beneath the ground could break at any moment, bubbling to the surface with scouring heat and force.

Tempered in Magma

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you radiate incredible heat while you rage. While raging, you gain immunity to fire damage. When you hit with a melee weapon attack while raging, you also deal an additional 1d8 fire damage.

Obsidian Body

Beginning at 6th level, your body becomes tempered volcanic stone while raging. While you are raging, you can’t be knocked prone or moved against your will, and you gain immunity to bludgeoning damage from nonmagical weapons.

Searing Geysers

Beginning at 10th level, you can use your action to unleash a torrent of steam from your breath. When you do so, all creatures within a 5 by 30 ft. line must make a Constitution saving throw(DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier) or be burned by the jet of steam. Each burned creature takes 3d6 fire damage at the start of each of its turns and its speed is reduced by half. A creature may re-attempt this saving throw to recover from the burn once at the end of each of its turns.

Seismic Waves

Starting at 14th level, the earth trembles as you move. As an action, you can stomp your foot to cause a minor quake. All creatures standing on the ground within 25 feet of you must make a Constitution saving throw(DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier) or be knocked prone and take 3d6 bludgeoning damage. A creature who makes a successful save takes half of this damage and does not fall prone.
