Primordial Armory – New Magical Equipment

Hello, everyone! Today’s article is a couple of magic items from Primordial Power.

Liquid Armor

Potion, uncommon(400 GP), 2 lb.

Liquid Armor looks like a gray, viscous fluid. It is made of alchemical reagents which exhibit strange behavior when exposed to air. Because of its external use, a single dose of Liquid Armor is about a quart of potion and sold in large jars.

You can spend an action applying Liquid Armor over whatever clothes or armor you are currently wearing, and the liquid thickens into a gel around you. While wearing Liquid Armor, your worn armor provides an AC of 18. You gain resistance to bludgeoning damage from nonmagical weapons, and vulnerability to lightning damage. The liquid congeals and peels off into lumps of a useless gel after 1 hour, or when exposed to water.

Carapace Shield

Armor(shield), very rare(requires attunement), 25 lb.

The Carapace Shields wielded by members of the Ivory Guard are magical items produced by Vira Bradford, their second-in-command. The rituals she has invented to keep their mysterious source dormant and transmute the carapace fragments are a closely guarded secret, and she only distributes these shields to members of the Guard who have truly proven their devotion.

While holding this shield, any time you are targeted by a magic missile spell, a line spell, or a spell which requires a ranged attack roll, roll a d6. On a 1 or 2, you are unaffected, and the effect is reflected back at the caster as though it originated from you, turning the caster into the target.

Dust of Zyl

Wondrous item, uncommon

This pewter flask contains a powdered red glass which can be used to draw a trail up to 35 feet in length. You may cork or uncork the flask as an action, and form a trail wherever you move during your turn while the flask is uncorked. A creature who crosses this trail takes 2d10 fire damage and 2d10 lightning damage, and they cannot continue moving until the start of their next turn. A creature may erase up to 5 feet of this trail as an action using a DC15 Intelligence(Arcana) check, or by crossing the trail and taking the damage.

Special: Some flasks of dust of Zyl contain more powder, but are often rarer. A flask containing enough powder for a 50-foot trail is a rare magical item, and a flask containing enough powder for a 100-foot trail is a very rare magical item.
